Frozen Smore On A Stick

Well...I didn't make it through my list of foods on a stick! However, I did try ONE more today (it was on my list but it was a new item this year so it wasn't on anyone's list. It was a frozen smore on a stick. It was two graham cracker with marshmallow fluff in the middle, then it was frozen & dipped in chocolate right before they serve it to you. It was pretty good...a little messy to eat. I bought it at the a stand outside of the horse pavilion. They have ALOT of ice cream/frozen treats on a stick so it was hard to decide which one Jayce and I were going to try. Frozen smore on a stick cost $3.50 and I would it give 3.5 sticks.

Pickle On A Stick

The pickle on a stick can be purchased at a stand on the lower level of the agriculture building. It was a steal at a price of $1.50! The pickle was pretty good. It was crisp & fresh. Only complaint about this one is that it was a little too salty or garlicy. I would give this 4 sticks based on the price & the flavor!

Egg On A Stick

The egg on a stick can be found in the middle of the agriculture building and it is FREE! They give you some seasoning salt to put on it. It was good...I don't know how many sticks to give this one because it was just a hard boiled egg on a stick! I guess I will give 3 sticks.

Nutty Bar On A Stick

Nutty Bar $3.50 purchased at the Benoit stand (east of the Riley Stage). I would give is 5 sticks.. kinda hard to mess up ice cream :)

Rock Candy On A Stick

Rock Candy only $1... not bad for only a $1.... I did share with Brandon and he loved it :) lots of sugar. Purchased under the granstandat Suzette's Candies. I would have to give it 2 sticks

Monkey Tails $3.50... Purchased at ice cream place at the pavilion. Very tasty I would give it 4 sticks :)

Deep Fried Milky Way On A Stick

Milky Way: 4 sticks Very good, melted quickly though and was messy, but still good! $3.50 - this can be purchased on the main street of the fairgrounds out in front of the grandstands

Porkchop On A Stick

Pork chop on a stick: 5 sticks! Delish from the Pork Producers stand, $5

Fried Cheese On A Stick

Well if you like Cheese Wiz this is the treat for you. Basically Cheese Wiz wrapped in Corn Dog batter. Wasn't terrible but I wouldn't have it again. I'll give it 2 Sticks. I got it for $3.50 at the Corn Dog stand outside the Grandstand.

Fried Pickle on a Stick

I couldn't find the actual fried pickle on a stick so I improvised. I got an order of fried pickles at the Veggie Stand $5 for 6 and they threw in the stick for free :) She offered to put them all on the stick for me but I preferred to be the one fingering my food. They of course are delicious but I would have enjoyed some dipping sauce with them, next time I'll ask for some ranch. I give it 4 sticks.

Ice Cream Cookie Sandwich on a Stick

Yum yum. You can get these dipped in chocolate but I chose not to, thought the melting ice cream would be enough mess for me. This was $3.50 at the ice cream place at the Pavilion. I give it 3 sticks!

Chocolate Covered Bacon On A Stick

Okay...so this isn't actually on my list but it has been all over facebook, on tv, & on the radio so since deep fried 3 Musketeers aren't available this year, I chose to replace it with CHOCOLATE COVERED BACON ON A STICK!
Here is what the it looks like! EEK!
Here is me eating the bacon (good pic Mom~my eyes are closed!)
The chocolate covered bacon on a stick cost $3 for 2 sticks of bacon. This can be purchased right outside of the main gate of the fairgrounds. I would give this ZERO STICKS! I thought it might be okay...something salty & something sweet but boy was I wrong! The chocolate was very, very thick on the a very thin piece of bacon. Plus, the chocolate was dark chocolate which I don't care for anyways. I purchased 4 sticks to share with the family before I knew how horrible it was! I seriously thought I was going to VOMIT after I ate just one bite! YUCK!
I tried to buy a deep fried ho ho on a stick tonight but they were out of ho ho's. How do you run out of hoho's? Send someone to the store to buy some more. I have also tried to get the hard boiled egg on a stick several times but the booth is always shut down when I go there!
Look below this post for my posting about Pineapple On A Stick!

Pineapple On A Stick

Pineapple On A Stick Me & Pineapple On A Stick
Tonight, I got Pineapple On A Stick! It cost $4 and it can be purchased in the triangle area across from the midway. It is one big chunk of pineapple, dipped in funnel cake batter & deep fried...then covered with a powered sugar glaze. I would give this about 2 1/2 sticks. It isn't horrible but it also isn't something that I would absolutely HAVE to have. Thank you Nate (my step-dad) for the monetary donation for the pineapple on a stick & thanks for being the hand model in the picture of the pineapple.

Salad On A Stick

Salad On A Stick

Here is the Salad On A Stick. It cost me $5 and I purchased it upstairs in the Agriculture Building (where the butter cow is located). As you can kind of tell from the picture, the lettuce was a little wilted. All of the veggies tasted old...definitely not worth $5 for 3 chucks of iceberg lettuce & gross tasting veggies. I will definitely not be getting this again, although I think it might be the only healthy item on the entire fairgrounds! I would give this item only 1 stick on the taste & price.

On a side note, I have discovered that there are a couple items on my list that's aren't available this year so I'm going to have to do some substituting of new items!

Carmel Apple - Check That Off My List!

I ate my first item on a stick tonight at the fair! It was an easy one...carmel apple! It cost $3 and I purchased it at one of the Wonder Bar Ice Cream Bar stands. How do you rate a carmel apple - it was just a normal carmel apple! However, it did seem to have quite a bit of carmel on it so I guess I will give it a rating of 3 1/2 sticks! Only 8 more items to go for me!!

Rules of the Game!

I was thinking that we probably needed to establish some rules...not really rules but guidelines!
~Take A Picture of Yourself (or your loved ones) eating the food on the stick
~Text or email the photo to me
~Include the price of the item, the location where it can be purchased, & rate the item (on a scale of 1 to 5 sticks...1 being the WORST & 5 being the BEST!)
I will try my best to keep the blog updated during the fair, however I can't make any promises since I will be attending the fair AT LEAST 8 out of the 11 days! CRAZY!
GOOD LUCK & GAME ON!

Get Ready Ladies!!

I drove through the fairgrounds tonight and I saw LOTS of stands that sell 'food on a stick!' Yippee...it's almost here! One week & counting...
